Welcome to the Ottawa Acting Studio, where your acting journey begins! Whether you’re taking your first acting class, thinking of acting as a hobby or profession, or simply want to have fun and challenge yourself, our dedicated team of experienced instructors are here to guide you every step of the way. Located in the heart of the Glebe, our downtown studio offers acting classes in the perfect creative space to learn and enjoy.

Focused on Canterbury High School Auditions


Get ready to shine at your upcoming Canterbury High School auditions! This specialized course is designed to give young actors ages 12 to 14 the tools, confidence, and polish they need to succeed.

Over the course of this program, students will:

  • Develop Strong Audition Skills – Learn how to enter the room with confidence, connect with the panel, and present yourself as a professional.
  • Master Monologue Performance – Receive individual coaching on monologues, including text analysis, character choices, vocal delivery, and physicality.
  • Tackle Nerves & Build Confidence – Practice proven techniques to manage audition-day stress, stay grounded, and let your best work shine through.
  • Understand the Audition Process – From selecting the right piece to preparing mentally and physically, students will leave knowing what to expect and how to stand out.
  • Mock Auditions & Feedback – Experience a real audition environment with supportive, constructive feedback to help you fine-tune your performance.

By the end of this course, each student will have a fully rehearsed, polished audition piece and the confidence to walk into their Canterbury audition prepared, focused, and ready to succeed.

Welcome to our 6-week introduction to acting course! Whether you're a complete beginner or have some previous experience, this course is designed to give you a solid foundation in the craft of acting. Over the course of seven weeks, we'll explore a range of topics and techniques that will help you develop your skills as an actor. We'll cover the basics of character development, script analysis, and improvisation, as well as more advanced techniques like emotional recall and sense memory. In each session, you'll have the opportunity to work on scenes and exercises with your classmates, and receive feedback and guidance from our experienced instructor. By the end of the course, you'll have a better understanding of the fundamentals of acting and be better equipped to take on more advanced training or pursue your own acting projects.

This class explores the audition process, both in-person and through self-tapes. Students will learn how to make strong choices, identify their personal “tells,” and understand the role of their character within a scene as it will be filmed. Level Three – A Scene for Your Reel


In Level Three, students put all of their training into practice and create a polished scene they can use for their demo reel. The course begins with a review of key principles from Levels One and Two, followed by mock auditions and casting for the final scenes to be shot. Once casts are assigned, students will collaborate to rehearse their scenes, exploring improvisation as a tool to expand and deepen their work.
