Whether you’re taking your first acting class, thinking of acting as a hobby or profession, or simply want to have fun and challenge yourself, our dedicated team of experienced instructors are here to guide you every step of the way. Located in the heart of the Glebe, our downtown studio offers acting classes in the perfect creative space to learn and enjoy.
Both the Ottawa Acting Studio and the Kanata Acting Studio provide hubs for creative individuals passionate about the performing arts. Both studios offer acting classes in a supportive environment where actors, from absolute beginners to the more experienced, can hone their craft, explore their abilities, and connect with a community of like-minded individuals.

GLEBE STUDIO
This 7 week class is for the musical theatre actor who wants to experience putting together a show and get a taste for performing. Students will learn multiple pieces from musicals of various styles. This co-creative class will explore singing technique, basic acting and dance, while weaving together these pieces into a unique one of a kind production based upon the ideas and themes developed by the class. Students will have the chance to sing as a group as well as brief solos. The course will end in a small showcase in the eighth week for friends and family. The fall term will have a focus on the inner child and returning to play in adulthood.

Level 2 Acting: Rehearsal & Performance
Ready to take your acting to the next level? In this exciting Level 2 course, participants will be cast in short, dynamic plays and work as an ensemble to bring them to life. You'll explore the full rehearsal process—from table reads and character development to blocking and refining scenes—while gaining valuable insight into how actors prepare for performance.

Cementing audition technique, scene study, and character development.
This class explores the audition process, both in-person and through self-tapes. Students will learn how to make strong choices, identify their personal “tells,” and understand the role of their character within a scene as it will be filmed. The course also covers essential self-tape techniques and technical requirements, ensuring students present themselves professionally and effectively in every audition.

Level Three – A Scene for Your Reel
In Level Three, students put all of their training into practice and create a polished scene they can use for their demo reel. The course begins with a review of key principles from Levels One and Two, followed by mock auditions and casting for the final scenes to be shot. Once casts are assigned, students will collaborate to rehearse their scenes, exploring improvisation as a tool to expand and deepen their work.

Have a great idea for a movie or TV series but don’t know where to start? Join veteran actor and writer Richard Kaulbars in this engaging and practical screenwriting course, where you’ll learn how to craft compelling scripts, create memorable characters, and bring your story to life on screen. Through interactive discussions, writing exercises, and professional insights, Richard will guide you through the essential elements of screenwriting.
This 4-week drama therapy group offers a unique opportunity to nurture your mental health in a manner that goes beyond traditional talk therapy. Drama therapy and psychodrama can have transformative effects on our self-esteem and confidence, stress and anxiety management, and interpersonal skills.
